Send Me to the Clouds
Sheng Nan (played by Yao Chen) is an independent and aspirational woman who longs to be loved but remains single. As she is unexpectedly diagnosed with ovarian cancer that needs to be operated on, she finds that her family, consisting of a cheating father and childish mother, cannot give her the support she needs. Prideful Nan has to accept a job she dislikes to pay for her operation, which reveals to her how dignity in adult life is harder to come by than she had imagined. Through one disillusionment after another, she finally makes peace with the world in her own way.
